History In The Making

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our annual Thankgiving rendezvous, this year, lead us to Chicago, Illinois to visit the Silber clan. We packed a lot of “catching up” (and eating) into our three day trip. It was the first time that most of the Silber’s were able to meet Sydney, most notably, Great Grandma Harriet & Great Grandpa Earl. Sydney also had her three month portrait sitting thanks to Grandpa & Grandma Silber. As always, it was very generous of them to mobilize their Mississippi studio in order to provide us with fantastic baby photos. See them & many others we took in the gallery via the link below.

As you can see in some of the pictures, Sydney is rapidly developing her own unique (and very well-natured) personality. She joyfully returns the slightest smile with one of her own, accompanied by a warm coo. Her sense of humor is also one of a kind (she displays a big smile after each time she spits up). More holiday season photos will soon follow.

A Trip To The Zoo

Back on the weekend of June 10th & 11th, Rach & I ducked out of town for our last trip together before the baby. We decided to go to the Omaha Zoo. We stayed two nights at the Holiday Inn at the Ameristar Casino in Coucil Bluffs. We dined at the casino buffet & Rachel renewed her love affair with video poker. She actually won $50 and had she been playing on the machine right next to her, she would have won $100 for the exact same hand. She was playing 2’s wild & had four 2’s. We spent all Saturday at the zoo on what turned out to be a very nice day. We were very impressed with the different exhibits, especially the indoor desert & underground “Nocturnal” exhibit. Take a moment to look at some of the animals we photographed with our new camera on its first outing.

Mississippi Trip

We recently returned from our annual trip to visit our Mississippi parents and sister.  Over three days we ate at our favorite restaurants, saw a movie, took new portraits, and went to the pool with Rachel’s “Boys” (for whom she nannied for five years).  We had a mini baby shower and brought home many nice new things for Sydney.  We had a great time and are excited to visit again next year.  We were happy to return home to our “first born”, Watson, who stayed with his Iowa City grandparents and poodle cousins.
